I am happy to announce that the retaining wall foot has been built and tomorrow we will start building it up with cinder blocks! Today we also started building up the walls on the inside part of the dry toilet where the compost process will take place. Due to the intense heat today, we had a half day of work then headed off with David to have a discussion about water scarcity. Making connections between the percentage of Earth's water (70%) and the amount of water in our bodies (~80%) we were reminded of the importance of our relationship with water. Our life is about choices and it is important to choose wisely. David also showed us one of the springs that feeds into the river, apparently, everyone here in the mountains have springs for their water systems instead of wells.

Afterwards, we hiked down to a stunning waterfall for a bit, we talked and climbed around the rocks, but we couldn't go into the water because the current was too fast and the water was super cold. We are now at the Tami Lodge, drinking coffee, playing games, and eating sweet treats, tomorrow we are leaving at 6 am for the Quetzal hike- we are so excited and hope to see the Quetzal bird that the park is named for.
